“The balance between weight and lightness is a dance. This piece made from forged steel with a red stone and kestrel feather reminded us of the heart ceremony in ancient Egypt. The heart was weighed against the feather of Ma’at, the goddess who represented truth, balance, justice and harmony. If the heart balanced with the feather, the deceased was presented to Osiris and granted access to the Sekhet-Aaru, or the Field of Reeds”
